Now that you know what you qualify for, there is a choice to make: What payment amount are you comfortable with? The last thing that you want to do is get into a payment plan that keeps you on the edge, stressed out and worrying about paying the bills. I say this because as a service member, your focus should be on completing the mission and not on "I have to get another job to pay my mortgage.” As a veteran myself, I encourage you to get some form of counseling on your home purchase prior to actually starting your search.
